The Global Wind Organisation is a non-profit body founded by wind turbine manufacturers and owners which strives for an injury free work environment in the wind turbine industry, setting common international standards for safety training and emergency procedures.
What are GWO training standards?
GWO training standards outline requirements for training courses used by GWO members, who accept individuals’ GWO certification records in the Wind Industry Database (WINDA) as confirmation that the individual possesses the knowledge and skills to safely work in the offshore & onshore wind turbine industry.
A GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Package is the best start to a career in the wind industry.
GWO Basic Safety Training (GWO BST)
The GWO Basic Safety Training (GWO BST) is made up of 5 modules:
- GWO First Aid
- GWO Fire Awareness
- GWO Manual Handling
- GWO Working at Height
- GWO Sea Survival
A Combined GWO Working at Height & Manual Handling option is also available:
- GWO Working at Height with Manual Handling
GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher (GWO BSTR)
Certificates are valid for 2 years and refresher courses are available to renew your certification.
