Course Overview
This course provides learners with the updated knowledge and practical capability to assess, treat, and manage casualties in remote wind turbine environments. This training revisits and reinforces advanced patient assessment, prolonged care, trauma management, airway and breathing support, circulatory emergencies, environmental injuries, and structured emergency communication.

Course Content
- Demonstrate effective medical teleconsultation and emergency communication skills to support remote casualty management.
- Conduct comprehensive primary and secondary patient assessments using structured emergency response techniques.
- Demonstrate how to recognise and manage severe trauma, circulation, and airway emergencies in challenging work environments.
- Understand approved pain management procedures and the safe administration of authorised medications.
- Participate in realistic, scenario-based rescue and casualty care exercises designed for wind turbine environments.
- Build on the confidence and competence required to provide advanced emergency care while coordinating with rescue teams and medical professionals.
- Enhance decision-making and incident management skills in high-pressure emergency situations.
Prerequisites
To attend the GWO Enhanced First Aid course participants must:
- Hold a valid in date GWO EFA certificate.
- Provide their WINDA ID
- Be over 18 years of age, physically and medically fit
